Spring birding around Budapest

Did you that Great Bustards are the heaviest flying bird on Earth? Males can weight up to 20 kg. Today we start with a visit to the Kiskunság National Park to look for this magnificant bird. Along the road we can see many Skylarks, Corn Buntings, White Storks and Yellow Wagtails. We will also be looking out for Buzzards, Kestrels and Marsh Harrier and we have a slim chance of  Imperial Eagle too!

During our lunch in Apaj village we'll have a chance to see  Syrian Woodpecker or Black Redstart. After that we head of to nearby Ürbő-fish ponds and wetlands for waterbirds like Black-necked Grebe, Purple Heron, Spoonbill, Ferruginous Duck, White-tailed Eagle, Penduline Tit and Bearded Reedling. If there is a drained pond then we have good chance for shorebirds, gulls and terns.

From here we drive to a wetland, where usually large flock of shore birds, like Ruff, Dunlin, Black-winged Stilt

We finish the day here around 4-5 pm.

Meeting time and place will be confirmed when you register.

Birding is better in smaller groups, so we have decided to limit the number of places available on each trip!

Places are allocated on a "first come first served" basis, so please fill in the form to the right and we will confirm your place and where to meet on the day. Registering is essential and allows us to contact you should a trip be canceled for any reason.

If you are unable to attend, please make sure you let us know in advance so someone else can take your place.

More trips may be added, so keep an eye on this page!

We are a non-profit organisation and ask for a small donation to help cover our costs and promote local wildlife and habitat conservation.
